Belize: Chapter 3(according to Georgia)

by admin on March 29, 2013

I went snorkelling! I saw… big fish, small fish, yellow fish, blue fish, Horse Eye Jack Fish, and one with a pointy nose, I also saw… Sting Ray, Nurse Shark I even saw a Sea Turtle. Please be delighted to ask any questions.

Oh ya, and stingrays feel slimy. Very slimy.

The turtle is probably saying “what you snorkelling at?”

Our guide wrote our names on a stingray. Nurse Sharks feel the opposite of stingrays. Not slimy. They feel rough like sand paper.

It was a dream come true. ~ Georgia

PS(from mom)–I have never seen any child react the way Georgia did when she started snorkelling that day. It was one of the biggest pleasures of my life watching her. And, it made it easier for me to get in the water with all those creatures…as I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was a bit freaked out. But, once in a lifetime opportunity and all that ;)

Dear Georgia,

I have never snorkeled before and quite frankly am a little afraid of the thought of swimming in the open ocean. However, you make it sound pretty easy and fun….something I just might have to reconsider in the near future. I do have a question for you. How did your dive instructor write names on the sting rays? Were there just small air bubbles or sand on their backs? Wondering if your “tattooed” sting ray still has your name on him/her. ;)

Oh, make sure to give your momma a big high five for capturing some awesome family memories. I think my favorite is the one with you swimming and holding onto your dad’s hand. Just warmed my heart. :)

Keep up the good work!
Kristina

Hello Kristina, it was sand on the sting ray and our guide dived down and quickly brushed off the sand to make letters and quickly came back up for air, oh ya and I think the sting ray will barely have my and Jacks name on it now.

Grandpa wants to know what kind of hooks he will need and what kind of uniform the nurse sharks wear? Uncle Ryan wants to know if he can eat them and if there is a bump on the log in the hole in the bottom of the sea? Grandma and I are just proud of you and Jack, and think you are adorable!

You need to use a rich doctor as bait for Nurse Sharks and they wore sand paper for a uniform because they felt like sand paper. They do have a hole in Belize its called the blue hole and there might be a log with a bump with a frog on the bump with a wort on the frog and hair on the wort with a flee on the hair with DNA and adams… lets NOT go into the nerdy stuff, anyway I think you can eat Nurse Sharks. And I am not adorable I’m creative and stuff but not adorable!!! Oh ya and heres the blue hole http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blue_Hole . you can only scuba in the blue hole so I did not get to go.
