Tolerance vs. Acceptance

by admin on March 7, 2013

Sharing because I thought this was so awesome…personally, I am trying to remove the word ‘retarded’ from my own vocabulary because I know I have a better grasp of the English language than to resort to having to use that. I don’t really use ‘gay’ like this, but if you do…I challenge you to stretch your mental ability and use a more appropriate word. And, the message about tolerance vs. acceptance is one you can never hear enough. The first time I heard it was in university…from a gay professor(I checked the flowchart, it’s okay to use here) who was teaching a 400 level English course on the discourse surrounding HIV/AIDS. It has stuck with me…and, not just about gay people, but about EVERYONE. :)
