The 5 Minute Project
This is the last year for our tent trailer. We are upgrading to a hard trailer for our EPIC ROAD TRIP across Canada next year. I will miss the morning light in ‘Georgia’s room’. My intention was to document 5 minutes of her playing in there…she was reading and goofing around with her stuffs. Then, after one frame, she noticed me and hid under a blanket for 5 minutes. So. Two images. That’s all I got. Then, I put the camera away and played with her. Lesson learned.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that these were some of my favourite Jack images ever. There are no words to express how amazing this kid is to me. So smart, so funny, so warm…an old soul. Always ready with a hug. The best. Missing him a bit today as he is away from me.

Do I tell you how angry she was with me during these 5 minutes? How she cursed having a photographer for a mother? How she wished she refused to stand in the light to spite me? Sometimes when you see the images, you don’t see the whole story. And, I hear a lot from other people about how awesome and amazing my life looks…and I chuckle a little. Because I know the truth…the truth that, yes, it is awesome and amazing, but it is NORMAL. hahahahaha…but, because I hear these things I have learned that even when things are tough, there is a teeny bit of beauty. You just have to look for it.
