San Pedro At Night

by admin on April 30, 2013

These were taken on my birthday. Bob and I had just had the most amazing couples massage at the end of a pier while the moon rose and we could hear the ocean beneath us. It was pretty magical. Then, we ate some street food. No, we didn’t get sick. The night shots ended here because the rum punch took hold and then I mostly felt like sleeping :)
Ah, Belize…so many more images to share. I’ll just keep doing it slowly, but surely…

Cave Tubing

by admin on April 21, 2013

These images and video were all taken with my mom’s little underwater point and shoot Olympus or our GoPro. It killed me to not be able to bring ‘the big camera’ there, but it really made no sense as there was a good chance it would hit a rock and crack the lens port. So, we made the decision to capture it this way…the humidity was INSANE and left moisture on the lenses of both cameras which resulted in very few images :( but, we have proof that we were there at least! An unreal experience riding a tube through a cave system. You have to see it to Belize it ;)

The Pitch Drop Experiment

by admin on February 12, 2013

We sometimes listen to podcasts in the car. We have been spending a great deal of time on the ski hills on the weekends and podcasts are a fun way to pass the time on the drive home. This past weekend, we listened to the Radio Lab podcast about the Pitch Drop Experiment. It started out as an experiment to prove that things aren’t always as they seem, but it has since become an obsession for many as no one has ever seen the pitch drop. The kids thought the story was unbelievable(once they missed it drop because they went out for a cup of tea). Our family is now obsessively checking the Pitch Drop webcam. Thought we’d share it with you all. Even if you think we are great big nerds for loving it ;)

First Day of School

by admin on September 4, 2012

Jack and Georgia…on their first day of grade five and grade two…Georgia is wearing a dress that she has been waiting to wear all summer. My good friend, Christine, made it for her. Christine sells her lovely clothes under the label Junebug Clothing. She makes these lovely Kimono dresses and the most beautiful little skirts. You should check it out ;) Such wonderful quality you won’t find in a store ;)

Hope everyone had a good first day :)

Double Digits

by admin on August 27, 2012

Just like that Jack is 10. There really are no words tonight. I am coming to the realization that he is growing up way to fast. Today, he played it all cool around a couple of girls we saw while we were out for a walk. And, they giggled and whispered…a glimpse of what’s to come.

Recently, I had a session that I shot in the dark. The kids being home from school still means they get to see me edit. Jack was enthralled with the sparkler images. And, so he told me that this was what he wanted for his 10 year old shots…so, who am I to let him down. From tonight…with his sister. Looking more grown up than I can stand.

Happy birthday baby boy :) Tonight at the dinner table I said ’10 years ago today our lives changed drastically’… and Georgia(always the cheeky monkey) asked ‘Why?’ … Bob quickly replied ‘Someone came to live with us and he hasn’t left yet’ ;) I love the banter at our house. I love that the kids laugh at the weirdness of it all…
